Maine-based blogger living and writing in Portland, Maine
Hey guys, I’m Allison! I was born and raised in New England, starting in Connecticut and hitting every state along the way until I hit Maine. But New Hampshire is where I will always consider home. I studied Recreation Management at UNH, which means that I spent 3 years and $30,000 learning how to become a Park Ranger (my goal was to become an Event Planner). Unlike a lot of people, I went on to work in the field I studied in and was fortunate to plan events for golf courses and trade event companies. A few years ago, I considered a career change and went back to school, snagging my MBA (and more debt) from SNHU.
After a few more years of soul-searching and keeping a safe distance from the edge of my comfort zone, I decided to say ‘F it’ and uproot my life by moving to Portland. Best decision I’ve ever made.
If you read my blog, you’ll learn a few more things about me: I’m sarcastic and often make fun of myself. I love food, music, and wine. I sell advertising for event venues and teach Barre in downtown Portland. And last, but certainly not least, I dance like an old lady and enjoy a good dad joke.
